HDPE geomembrane is a waterproof structure composed of HDPE locking strips, HDPE geomembrane, and geotextile, with two fabrics and one membrane. It is laid on the slope of the bottom of the water tank and is a waterproof structure that replaces the fully reinforced concrete self waterproof structure.

HDPE geomembrane has been successfully used as a waterproof structural layer in sewage treatment engineering, with simple construction and low cost. Compared with reinforced concrete, this process not only shortens the construction period but also reduces investment, making it a construction technology worth promoting in sewage treatment projects.
Construction of HDPE geomembrane laying:
(1) Construction conditions: Requirements for the base surface: The moisture content of the plain soil on the base surface to be laid should be below 15%. The surface should be flat and smooth, without accumulated water, mud, bricks, stones, sharp edges, and other hard impurities. Branches, weeds, and garbage should be cleaned up.
Material requirements: The quality certification documents for HDPE geomembrane materials should be complete, and the appearance of HDPE geomembrane should be intact and undamaged; Mechanical damage, production trauma, holes, folds and other defects should be removed, and approval from the supervising engineer must be obtained before construction.
(2) Construction of HDPE geomembrane: First, lay a layer of geotextile as a protective layer. Within the scope of laying the anti-seepage membrane, the geotextile should be fully laid, with a suitable overlap length of ≥ 150mm. Then, lay the anti-seepage membrane.
The construction process of anti-seepage membrane is as follows: laying - cutting - aligning - aligning - pressing film - welding - shaping - testing - repairing - retesting - acceptance.
